The 10 Best Metal Albums of 2011

Another year has passed us headbangers by and, man, have we seen the release of some killer albums! As has been the case, for a long time this is not an easy list to make by any stretch of the word. It takes a lot of thinking and fidgeting. But, in the end this list is what I came up with. As always, I do hope that this list is indicative of my varied taste in hard rock and metal, and will cause some discussion among you guys and gals. Your opinion is always welcome.

10. Deicide- To Hell with God- I have loved the last few Deicide albums, but this album marks the band at their decidedly most evil best. Heavy, brutal, and as anti-God and Satanic as ever. The title track has a great pounding opening and the whole song will just pummel you, straight to hell!!

9. The Pretty Reckless- Light Me Up- Gorgeous Taylor Momsen ranked in at number 40 of my top 70 Hottest Babes of 2011, and with good reason. But, the leggy bad girl also put out one hell of a hard rock album. With a voice far beyond her young age Momsen shines in the vocal department. I know Europe got this album last year, but we here in the states didn't get till this year. And, I honestly listen to this one a lot, so there was no way it wasn't gonna make the list. Plus, "Zombie" is one of my personal favorite tracks of the year.

8. Children of Bodom- Relentless, Reckless, Forever- CoB have long been one of the my favorite melodic death metal acts, and their lead signer one of my fav front men in all of metal. Their latest offering is fast, technically savvy, and instantly recognizable as another great work from them. As always few bands can shred like these motherfuckers!!

7. Warbringer- Worlds Torn Asunder- It never ceases to surprise me just how good these guys are. I always call these guys the American answer to Kreator and Sodom, because that's what best describes them. This album is finely crafted, fast, angry, and super-heavy thrash metal that will make you feel as if your getting the ass whooping of a lifetime.

6. Amon Amarth- Surter Rising- While I liked the last album they put out, Twilight of the Thunder God, this is a much better album and a more solid return to form. While, it still is not on the level of the classic With Odin on Our Side, this is still heavy and pounding viking melodic death metal at it's best, crafted by the kings of it. The cover is also one of the year's coolest!

5. A Pale Horse Named Death- And Hell Shall Follow Me
- This late addition (I only heard it this week!), is dark, brooding, and heavy. Featuring Sal Abrucasto, former drummer of Type O Negative and Life of Agony, on vocals and guitar, it has to be one of the most exciting debuts I have heard in many a moon. Fellow fans of Type O take heed this is the real deal. And, let me say this, had I heard this earlier in the year, it may have ranked even higher as, the more I hear/ think about it, the more I like it!

4. Machine Head- Into the Locust- Machine Head continue to produce some of the best albums of their career. After, the mighty The Blackening, I and many others wondered where could they go from there? After all, that album was called their Master of Puppets. And, then comes this one, with songs that even longer and more complex. Mixing the groove and thrash metal sounds Machine Head are carrying the flag for real metal high. And, that horror movie style cover is fucking cool as hell!!!

3. The Black Dahlia Murder- Ritual- Unquestionably one of my favorite death metal acts, these guys are fucking heavy but are also incredibly fun to listen to. There horror and geek love are forever. Pummeling fast riffs, super killer blastbeats, and some of my favorite cookie monster vocals manage to seal the awesomeness of this band and this album.

2. Chthonic- Takasago Army- My favorite black metal act release what is unquestionably my favorite black metal album of the year. This is a band just continues to get better with each and every album. I mean think about how much I loved their album, Mirror of Retribution, which ranked in at number 4 in 2009, well this one is even better than that one!!!!

1. Anthrax- Worship Music- While, I said picking the order and albums to appear this list was not easy, one pick was: this one. No album I heard this year was on the level of near perfection that this one was. It is not the best album of the year, but also the comeback of the year. And, the band's very best since Persistence of Time. It's heavy as fuck and proves that these members of the big four have not lost a step despite the years it has been since making an album, let alone one with Joey Belladonna. And, let me tell you this, Belladonna sounds better than ever! Everything in this album works and kills it. There are so many amazing, close to perfect, and perfect songs. And, "I'm Alive" is unquestionably my favorite song of the year. Raise those fucking horns, cause one of my all time favorite bands are back better than ever!!!

Hot Asian Girl of the Month: Julia Ling

It's very important to start off a new year with something really good. It sets the whole tone for the year to come. And, so what better way to start 2012, than with my pick for January's Hot Asian of the Month, the very cute Julia Ling!

She was born Xiao Wei Lin on February 14, 1983 in Temple City, California. She would go on to excel in athletics and in her class work.

Her TV debut was on of my all time favorite shows: Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Work on various TV shows like 8 Simple Rules, House, ER, and others would follow. She also worked on over 20 indie movies!

In 2007, she competed in Jackie Chan's Disciples. She became one of the "Top Four Finalists", but due to her shooting Chuck she could not compete in China.

On the aforementioned Chuck she played Anna Wu, from season 1-3. Now, I have never watched that show, don't feel I ever need to. But, I do remember switching channels and seeing her on it, and being like, "Damn! She's cute!". But, then I just switched to another show. 10. Miko Lee (new)- Miko has been one of the hardest working babes this year with lots of porn, including two huge upcoming films: the vampire flick Forbitten Desires and the hotly anticipated Spartacus XXX. All while remaining a total sweetheart to her fans and stunningly beautiful as ever!

9. Deborah Ann Wohl (last year- 46)- Man, every season of True Blood sees this babe get hotter and hotter! Any time we see her in bra and panties it's a good thing. Her character went through a lot, too. Which allowed her to show her amazing acting chops. Oh, and she's is great in the still unreleased Mother's Day, as well.

8. Tia Ling (last year- same)- One of the sexiest and yummiest porn stars, I am truly in love with the lovely Ms. Ling. She also happens to be very interactive with her fans on Twitter and post some great stuff on the net. She also continues to be in some of the most bonerriffic porn out there!

7. Laura Vandervoort (last year- 49)- V might have gotten the axe this year, but this goddess' amazing beauty and great performance on that show, give her the biggest leap on my list this year.

6. Maggie Q (last year- 13)- As soon as I saw the first new episode of this season of Nikita, I said to myself and on my Twitter, "Maggie Q has gotten even hotter, now! Damn!" The series remains quality programing, her acting is excellent, and she is just fucking gorgeous. I would die for those killer legs, alone!!!

5. Angelina Armani (last year- 10)- The lovely Ms. Armani starred in this year's hotly anticipated Chromeskull: Laid to Rest II. I also interviewed her twice this year. The second of which led to my first published article in the October 2011 issue of Fangoria. She's as sweet and down to earth as she is gorgeous. Thus, this leggy babe is the single highest ranking blonde on my annual list! But, hey I called it last year that this one was gonna be a good one for her. And, I think 2012 will be as good, if not better!

4. Sasha Grey (last year 3)- All hail Sasha Grey! She continues to push herself further into mainstream. This year also saw some dumbasses make a big mess about her reading to kids in a school. But, thank goodness many stood by her including Whoopi Goldberg and the goregous Aurora Snow. I, too, showed my support on my Twitter and Facebook fan page.

3. Jamie Chung (last year- 2)- She starred in two big movies this year: the underrated Sucker Punch and the hit Hangover 2. And, my God, she looked delicious in Sucker Punch (I have yet to see Hangover 2, but I can bet you my house she looked hot in that, too). You just can't beat a hot Asian chick with a gun! She also did some sexy photo-shoots. In short this was a great year to be a fan of this Korean goddess!!

2. Grace Park (last year- 1)- Last year's top babe drops one spot, but only cause the still badass Hawaii Five-0 gave more face time the new chick. Still, Park remains the hottest cop on TV and the most beautiful woman in the history of television.

1. Asa Akira (last year- 4)- What a year for this goddess it has been! She won five awards at this year's AVNs and gave me two awesome interviews at both the AEE and Exxxotica. She also starred in the smoldering and nasty as hell Asa Akira Is Insatiable 2. Plus, she was in a bunch of other porn that had tons of dudes reaching for the tissue box. With her star getting bigger by the second, she has become, arguably, the biggest Asian porn star out, right now, as well as one of the top and most popular porn babes of ALL. And, so there really is no one else, I could pick other than this vision of perfection to top my list this year.

Jen & Sylvia Soska (new)- Two of the most multi-talented (writers/ directors/ producers/ actors!!) and beautiful women in horror, today, the Soska twins really kicked the genre's ass with the awesome and fun Dead Hooker in a Trunk, a movie I really think is one of the coolest low budget genre films in quite some time. Next year these stunners will see this movie hit DVD and blu-ray, here in the US, and, hopefully the release of their brand new terror flick the highly anticipated American Mary starring Ginger Snaps lovely Katherine Isabelle.

19. Misti Dawn (last year 50)- One of the greatest geek goddesses in the history of the world, Misti remains one of the most beautiful and fun people to follow on the net. Her honest to god love for all things geeky makes her stand out in a sea of wanna-bes. Plus, she bestowed yours truly with three, count 'em THREE, kick ass interviews this year! While, she recently declared her retirement from the skin industry, she has promised to remain a constant figure in geek culture. And, that's good news, cause an internet without some Misti would suck!

18. Tanya Tate (last year 32)- One of the hottest porn stars also happens to be one of the best cos-players out there. Want proof? Do a Google search for her as She-Ra. Fucking hot, I tell you!! Beyond that she's been doing comic-book con appearances, as well as comic book and blu-ray reviews making her one of the yummiest geek babes out there. And, in person, she remains a sweet and down-to-earth babe with a hell of a sexy accent!

17. Jada Cheng (last year 16)- Still one of my favorite models and clearly this is the same case with many other people. She did lots of public appearances and most of awesome of all, had a very naughty and sexy T-shirt released by the always awesome guys from TITS (Two In the Shirt)!!

16. Courtney Cummz (last year 18)- She is one of THE sexiest, friendliest, most bubbly, and down-right delicious porn babes out there. And, is it me or does she get sexier at every con appearance?

15. Grace Helbig (new)- I will make no bones about this, Grace is THE funniest woman alive. There is also no doubt that she is the hottest looking comedian in the history of the world. And, after meeting her at NYCC, I can tell you that she is as sweet in person as she is beautiful. Truly one of my favorite internet celebs.

14. Joanna Angel (last year 5)- She remains THE one true queen of alt-porn, of course if you run Burning Angel, that goes without saying. Combine her beauty with her sweetheart personality and you have a woman, who will probably NEVER lose that crown!

13. Gail Kim (last year 21)- After the WWE shitted all over her, the single most beautiful woman in all of pro-wrestling, returned to TNA (or Impact or whatever the fuck they wish to call each other this wk), and soon got the Knockouts tag-belt (along with mega-cutie Madison Rayne) and the world's title soon followed!! Last night, she defended that title in a main event match! A solid, twenty minute match at that! This has to be one of the few things TNA has done right, so take that WWE!!!

12. Adrenalynn (last year- same) This long time favorite of mine remains one of the sexiest, most beautiful, and truly awesome babes on the net. And, she is still cool as hell to follow on any of her accounts. It is is pretty much impossible not to love her. And, that, dear friends and readers, is a fact!

11. Natasha Nice (new)- One of the highest debuting newcomers to this list this naturally busty and jaw dropping gorgeous babe managed to give me one of the most fun interviews that I have ever had the pleasure of conducting. An accident has led to the zombie apocalypse. Two survivors in Reno, Neveda, who had a past relationship with each other, hide in a casino. They must now battle the flesh hungry hoards of the living dead.

This is an adaptation of Steve (30 Days of Night) Niles' comic of the same made by horror cable channel, Chiller TV as their first feature. I have never read the Niles' comic, so I'm going to rate this one on it's own merits.

With that said, I find this movie to be highly derivative of many other zombie movies. The movie has fast zombies, and then at the climax faster zombies, which I loathe, and they clearly ripped off from the Dawn of the Dead remake. Throw in the whole, "hey we're trapped in one place" and the military popping up and you have a film that pillages from all of the major movies of this kind that you can think of. I will say this, though, I wouldn't mind getting stuck in a nice casino/ hotel (though I would pick Vegas over Reno). In fact, I think I might enjoy getting stuck in there even more than I would at a mall!

The new things it adds to the zombie mythos are that zombies do in fact sleep, albeit standing up, and that they eat other are not particularly interesting. That last point leads me to say this, I thought zombies don't cannibalize each other because they prefer fresh meat. Oh well, I guess this movie ignores that or has decided to change that. Whatever.

To it's advantage there is some good acting, more so from our two leads. Miko Hughes, who dealt played zombie as little Gage in Pet Sementary, is quite good as our hero who has past. But, the real highlight, for me, was the gorgeous Evalena Marie. She plays a tough, badass, at times bitchy heroine in Tori. Plus, she looks fucking hot as hell in her denim shorts and cowboy boots. I, dear readers, was in love.

There is also some pretty good gore including flesh-eating, bloody squibs, impalings, and fingers getting sliced off. It has a good pace, but like I said before; there is the whole feeling of I've been here and done this, and done this better. So while it ain't boring, it won't really hold much of your interest either. Well, other than any time that we can get look at Marie's great legs, anyway.

I can't really say that this movie is worth catching. It's not horrible, it's not good. It's sort of just there.

30. Courtney Cox (new)- Let me start by saying I hate Friends with a fucking passion. I hate most of the cast, as well. But, I do love Courtney Cox! And, she was and is still fuckin hot!, a MILF, if I do say so myself. She had her own TV show, which I never bothered to watch. But, much more cool with me was her being in the new Scream sequel. She has great legs and beautiful eyes, and I was happy as hell to see her on the big screen. Her last name is awesome, too. Seriously, this babe should be doing porn!

29. Karen Kougar (new)- Another MILF hits the top 30, this one, though, does do porn! Yay! She, too, has beautiful eyes, plus an amazing God-given rack! Her performances are really hot and, having interviewed her at last month's Exxxotica NJ, I can tell you she's really fun to be around and a total sweetheart. I love me some Kougar!

28. Layla Lu (new)- This gorgeous model is one of THE hottest to ever step in front of the camera. She was this month's Hot Asian Girl of the Month and gave me a cool as hell interview at Exxxotica NJ. Try not fall in love just from looking at those beautiful eyes of hers!

27. Riley Steele (new)- Last year she graced one of the the year's best horror films, Piranha 3D, and got lots of mainstream attention. This year, she drew a lot of attention from the media and fans at the AEE. Her line was one of the longest. But, as her appearances at that event and Exxxotica NJ proved, despite her huge popularity she is a sweetheart and very down-to-earth. Of course, she also happens to be hot as fuck!!!

26. Alex Sim-Wise (new)- My God whenever this goddess is on Attack of the Show my pants are so grateful to G4! Those eyes! That accent! And most of all those boobs!!! Damn!! She also happens to do a lot of sexy news segments. No doubt about it, Alex is one of THE hottest red-heads, ever!!!!

25. Milynn Sarley (last year- 23)- Speaking of G4, can you guys please get Ms. Sarley back on AOTS? Seriously, man, I need some more of her in my life! She can still be found geeking out on the net, thank God. She was also on Chiller TV's countdown of the creepiest kids in horror. The program itself was pretty forgettable, but her mere presence was anything but!

24. Alexandra Deddario (new)- I greatly enjoyed Bereavement, the superior prequel to the writer/ director's own Malevolence, because of how well it was made, how nasty it got, and how good the cast was. Also, cause of how hot Ms. Deddario was. And, how distracting her chest was. She never bared them, sadly, but good God, they still looked amazing. She'll return to give more woodies to horror fans next year in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. While, that may well suck, and 3D does, indeed suck, seeing those knockers in 3D will probably be awesome!

23. Candace Bailey (last year- same)- Olivia who? is what Candace fans are saying. This Southern belle really came into her own, this year, in particular. And, I have to say, she might just be a better host than you know was! Candace is cute, funny, and bubbly. And, she has great chemistry with her co-host Kevin Pereria. She honestly makes that show more fun that it already is!

22. Linda Le (last year- same)- Cos-player, metalhead, anime & horror fan, blogger, and all around goddess, this stunning babe rules. She is my personal favorite cos-player. She always posts the sexiest pics and is a true fellow geek. I'm a long time fan and supporter of hers, and she seems to have gotten even bigger this year. She recently announced that she will be featured in legendary horror mag Fangoria, a publication that she, like many other horror fans, grew up reading. She made many con appearances this year, and I think she will be even more popular next year!

21. London Keyes (new)- This naturally beautiful goddess makes her long overdue debut on this list at quite an impressive ranking. But, if you have seen her smoldering performances in releases like Asa Akira Is Insatiable and The Spit and the Speculum it will come as no surprise to you. As gorgeous as she is nasty, and vice-a-versa, this vision of perfection is one that will make you waste a ton of tissues!

Dear God No!

A vicious gang of murdering and raping bikers, The Impalers, invade a home after a bloody shoot out at a strip club. They hold the father, his daughter, and a couple hostage. Humiliation, rape, and murder follow, but there is something in the basement and in the woods... Sasquatch!

This totally politically incorrect exploitation throw back to the 70s is an amalgam of a biker film, a home invasion flick, a Bigfoot monster movie, and even some Nazisploitation. And, in the end, it's all fucking good!

From the get go you know know you're in for a film that don't fuck around, as it opens with a dead nun, who was clearly just raped and whose pussy is exposed. Her body, then, gets run through with a spinning biker wheel! From then on it's a movie where no one is safe, not even children or pregnant women. The gore and violence come in high amounts with vicious rape, stabbings, head-shots, blood rushing squibs, bisections, decapitations, and tons more as blood and even piss gets shot out! A guy even gets choked out with his own intestines! There are tons of holy shit moments, so I don't wanna reveal anymore. It's best you check them out yourself, and get your jaw to drop the way I did.

Like the movies it plays loving tribute to it features more than it's fair share of skin. Including a nice, long take of topless strippers dancing around, some of them wearing Nixon masks! Another highlight for skin fans will be the gorgeous Madeline Brumby who as the daughter, does her own striptease. She's got some pretty nice knockers, if I do say so myself.

The best acting has to come from lead baddie Jett Byrant is just an evil motherfucker! But, he is also pretty funny. The movie itself is funny as hell and has some great and priceless dialogue. It's certainly nasty, but it will make you laugh your ass off at times, and yet other times it totally kicks you straight in the nuts. Moving at a breakneck pace, it all leads to a killer climax and ending that is just fucking awesome!

In all, this crazy, over the top movie is one that fellow fans of 70s movies need to watch. Bricket is honest in his love for movies like this, and it is shown clearly here. This is not just another fake grindhouse movie. This one, dear friends and readers, is the real deal!

Hopefully this movie will hit blu-ray and DVD soon, as there is strong interest in having it get released. It's been getting a ton of good press and reviews, all of which it righteously deserves. When it does hit blu-ray, expect a ton of cool extras.

And, writer/ director Bickert told me he has just finished writing the sequel, Frankenstein Created Bikers (great title, by the way!), and plans to start shooting it in the Summer of 2012. I for one, can't wait, and when you see this flick, neither will you be able to wait! In fact, I think that Bickert is definitely one to watch, as he is the future of exploitation film making.

I wore it in the next pic with us, and the result is one of my fav pics of the day!

Hot Charmaine Glock and Hot Cars at Exxxotica NJ 2011

The Exotic Car and Bike show made a triumphant return to Exxxotica this year for the second straight year. Gorgeous women and hot cars were on display. Few things in this world go hand in hand better than these two, so it made sense for it to be back.

As a huge Spider-Man, this was probably my favorite car on display there.

One of the sexiest and most beautiful models at the car show was the stunning Charmaine Glock. Hailing from Seattle, Washington the gorgeous Ms. Glock has been modeling for a more than a year, now. I first knew about her last year and had the pleasure of meeting her at that Exxxoitca NJ show.

I went up to her in the afternoon, as she and Layla Lu (more on her in an upcoming post!) were busy with many fans meeting and greeting them and having lots of pics being snapped at them all day. She reconized me and I went up and said hi. It was good to see her. She is very easy sweet and is all smiles. As I have said she is also stunningly beautiful. I happen to think she has some of the sexiest and coolest tats, I have ever seen! Something, I finally got around to telling her this time. She thanked me and told me that she had some new work added to her sleeve. Awesome! She just keeps getting hotter all the time!

I think that it goes without saying that beautiful Asian girl + tattoos + glasses = perfection! She's honestly one of my personal favorite models out there right now, and I look forward to see what she will be doing in the coming year!

Exxxotica NJ 2011: Porn Babes Galore! Pt. 2

To my friends and I, it simply ain't Exxxotica without the gorgeous and sexy Courtney Cummz. Easily one of the hottest women at any convention, Courtney is always friendly and in a great mood. She clearly loves her fans and is always ready to let fans grab her ass or boobs or , sometimes, even grab her fans! Aside from being flirty, she is one of the nicest and coolest people you will ever meet. She definitely brightens any room that she is in or any day of the week!

Naughty housewife and all around cutie Paige Little is an amauter porn star who runs her own site. She was very easy to talk to, friendly, and was there to promote her site. She got a kick out my Master Gio pseudonym.

At one of the booths, three beautiful women sat next to each other, and they were all sweeties.

First up was the exceptionally cute Lexi Belle. I loved the outfit she had on (very sexy!), and she was all smiles in person.
At her right sat the lovely Kirsten Price. As, I learned from my friend Pat, she really likes gummies. He gave her a bag of them, and she was very pleased!
And next to her sat the very pretty Breanne Benson. She was also friendly and nice to meet. She also happens to have gorgeous eyes!
One of the sexiest and naughtiest girls doing girl-girl stuff right now has to be the beautiful Prinzzess. She also provided me with one of the sexiest pics of me and a girl in the whole con! She has great legs and really nice ass!
Speaking of sexy, one girl I was dying to meet was the gorgeous beauty, Bridgette B.! I've mentioned in the past just how much I like her and her amazing boobs. She got there a little later, but as soon as I noticed she got there, I had the to go up to her. The lovely Ms. B., known as the Spanish Doll (and rightfully so), was taken by all the stickers I had on me, at this point in the day, thanks to other booths who placed them on me. I said I was sorry (referring to how distracting the stickers were), and we both laughed. She is one of my current favorites and looks incredibly impressive in person!

Penthouse has a booth with two of their most beautiful Pets signing posters for free. Jenna Rose and Adrienne Manning were both friendly and all smiles as they met fans. They were also absolutely beautiful!

Needless, to say my friends and I went home very happy. Now, three of us have been going to this show since the very first one, but this one was the very best one and one of the best shows/ cons, of any kind, ever. The starlets were very fan friendly, in fact the whole show was extremely fan friendly, with some really great prices and lots of free autographs. I already cannot wait for next year!

Exxxotica NJ 2011: Porn Babes Galore! Pt. 1

If there is one convention/ show that I most look forward to every year that would have to be Exxxotica NJ. The show is always awesome, but this one went beyond my expectations.In fact, the word awesome might be too small and simple to describe it. Accompanied by three of my friends, one of them was also my photographer, we went on Saturday, November 5, 2011 and were blown away by it!

The first person I saw at the show was the beautiful Dana DeArmond, who was signing at the Evil Angel booth. Known as "The Internet's Girlfriend", I have been an admirer of Ms. DeArmond's beauty and hot performances for a very long time. I was first introduced to her via her old myspace. Since then I have loved following and reading her posts all over the net. She is just as likable in person. I only caught the tail-end of what she was telling my friends, but it involved food and sex, I think. It peeked my interest, though, and decided to pick up the movie where this act occurs, The Spit And Speculum. Speaking of tail-ends, Dana has quite an amazing backside!
Digital Playground's beautiful Stoya got there early, and we were lucky enough to catch her before her line got long. As always, she is a very personable and fan friendly babe. And, of course, she's utterly stunning.

Later another DP beauty joined her, Riley Steele. Again, we were lucky enough to get on the line early enough to avoid the surely long and crazy ones that she inspires. After all, I still recall the first time I saw her in Vegas in January and the amount of people that wanted to meet her. Despite her fame, Riley is very down-to-earth and has not let fame get to her pretty head.
Since Riley had just signed my Piranha 3D (not in 3D) blu-ray, I wanted to get the naturally voluptuous Gianna Michaels, to do the same. I asked her about the scene where she surf glides and gets chomped in half by the vicarious, killer fish. She said it was, "hot as fuck" to shoot there. She is always very friendly and sweet to her fans, who deservedly love her greatly.

Eros.com had a booth set up, of mostly, free autographs. I say mostly because there was Kelly Staxxx, who was charging $40 for her autograph picture, DVD, and a condom. Regardless of that, it was a fun table. I met the lovely Sapphire there.
Over at the Xtreme magazine booth, busty Shay Lynn signed copies of her issue for free. She took some time to talk to us and came off as very cool. This beauty from Delaware has a very interesting interview inside of the publication. And, while I have not seen any of her work, I think I need to change. Moreso, cause she works exclusively with woman. That's HOT in my book!

Sarah Vandella is someone I have long wanted to meet, having seen her work and being a fan of hers. She is extremely sweet and cute in person. I am very happy to have finally met her, as I missed her at last year's show and this year's AEE. Her voice was going, though, and I felt bad for her. I certainly hope she is feeling better now!

If there was one person I was most excited to meet, that I had never met before, it had to be the gorgeous Charmane Star. She has long been one of the girls I been requesting to come to this show. You see, I have been a long time fan of hers and think she is simply stunning. We talked for a little while, as she recognized me from my Twitter. I happily bought a Polaroid pic if us from her. She is sweet and down-to-earth. It's just so nice to see that someone you are a fan of is cool as hell in person!

In keeping with a tradition of mine at porn cons, I got a picture with the beautiful and sexy Sara Jay. How could I not?
There are tons more porn stars I met, but I'll save those for the next part. I also have a shit load more pics and lots of interviews, to post. So, stay tuned as the Master brings you more, than ever (!), of the kind of reporting like I only I know how to do!

Here is the kicker, the lovely Carrie Preston of True Blood, appeared out of nowhere and signed for free!!! She was at the same table as Grace Helbig had been it at the day before. She was very sweet, but more on her in the upcoming Gorezone post.

I also hit artist alley and met two artists.

By the way, though Chris Hardwick by now, had left this is where his Nerdist booth was suppose to be at. I say suppose, cause we never saw it. And, no one at the con could help us!!! Fail! How could you work at Comic Con and not know? And, how can Comic Con not be able to point you in right direction on ANYTHING of theirs things, be it map, app, or otherwise?!

Finally, I had a good time, but this con had it's issues, all of which I have discussed in full detail. Regardless, I loved it and will be back. I hope you enjoyed my coverage and see you there next year, if you decided to go!

NYCC 2011: Saturday- Babes, Celebs, and More!

As, I may have said before, I kept paying visits to the VampireFreaks booth. I kept coming back cause the babes were gorgeous. And, thus I felt it was (and is) my duty, as your faithful and intrepid reporter, to get you guys some hot pics. Why? Cause I love you guys and don't want you to feel bad for not being there.

Can Batman deal with Poison Ivy's WMDs?

At the Digital Art Zone booth a beautiful dancer showed us an interactive game as she shimmied her sexy and toned body. I could, quite honestly, have shot pictures of her all day. She's a stunning woman and a great dancer!

I also met the beautiful cosplayer and costume designer (she does some amazing work!) Yaya Han. She looked amazing and posed for some pics.

But to me THE highlight of THE enitre show came from running into the beautiful and hilarious Grace Helbig! I am a HUGE fan of hers, and when I saw her at a booth at artist alley I almost died! And, she is sooo sweet, friendly, and humble in person. She talked to us for a good 20-30 minutes! If you are not subscribed to her youtube channel I ask WTF are you waiting for?

One of the coolest things about Comic Con is the exclusive toys. And, on Saturday Cartoon Network gave out a Finn figurine from Adventure Time for freaking free!!! I ran my ass to get my figure as I am a HUGE fan of the show. It is about a kid named Finn and his dog/ friend Jake that have adventures (duh) in a fantasy world. While, it does appeal to kids there are a lot of jokes aimed at adults. I like animation done in that manner and mentality, a lot. And, going to their cool booth, where fans could chill and watch Cartoon Network toons, to get the figurine was a very awesome thing that they did for their fans. That and the both looked so kick ass! I mean the giant Jake freaking rules!!! By the way, I was sooo pumped to get this that I hit the booth on the two preivious days, but only found out on Friday that they would only be giving it out at two specified times on Saturday.

Another show, I love is Nikita. In fact, when I was told by one of my friends that the ravishing Maggie Q, long with Shane West and Lyndsey Fonesca, were gonna do a panel and sign autographs, I flipped! Then, I saw that they were only gonna sign for a half hour at the DC booth, at 6PM. But, I was still gung-ho about it. That was until I saw the horrible line.

This is NOT just a mob of people THIS the line to get into the panel...

And, this is the tail end of said line, that wraps down the hall and keeps on going!

But, wait, you say, the Master is media, surely, he has preference to get in. And, you would be WRONG! NYCC don't give a shit about media when comes to a big panel like this, unless you are from a channel and have a big ass camera. I wasn't about to wait on that line. So, I said, "Fuck it" and left.

This brings me to another problem with NYCC, the crowds. They are poorly controlled and worst of all people bring strollers and rolling suitcases. That shit needs to be banned from the show. I am serious. Sadly, it won't happen. I bitched about it, but there is another issue I had. But, I'll save that one for the next post.

Anyway, after that bit of annoyance, I went to the celebrity autograph section. I got some pics of some of the lovely celebs that were there. Enjoy.

Saturday is said to be THE biggest day at NYCC, it certainly was. But, despite it being packed to the brim, it turned out to be one of the most fun and kick ass days at comic con.

Hot Asian Girl of the Month: Jessica Gomes

November is the month where we give thanks. And, I that is exactly what I want to do for the beautiful Jessica Gomes! With a body like hers, I'm sure you'll be giving thanks for her as well. And, you'll be thanking me for picking her as November 2011's Hot Asian Girl of the Month.

Jessica was born in Perth, Australia on September 25, 1985. Her father is Portuguese and her mother is Singaporean-Chinese. In this month's Maxim, she told them that she got her "curves" from her dad's side and her "work ethic" from her mom.

She began her career on the Australian TV Show Bush Patrol. Dude, keep your mind out of the gutter! The show is a children's show about their magical adventures in the bush and Aboriginal dreams. OK, it still sounds funny, I admit it!

She has made appearances in many magazines and catalog's, including Teen Vogue, Glamour, and Victoria's Secrets. She has posed for Estee Lauder, DKNY, Levi's, and lots more. For Lauder she became the face of Diddy's Unforgivable fragrance.

In 2009, she got her own reality show on Korean TV called My Name Is Jessica Gomes. I usually complain about reality TV, but this time I won't!

Jessica has also been a model for Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Now, I honestly I ain't cared about that mag since I was a kid. I mean with porn who needs that? That and I honestly don't like most of their models. I always complain about the lack of Asian girls, but Ms. Gomes makes up for this. Here she is proving that she is THE hottest model that mag has on it.

OK, honestly that accent makes that much hotter!!! Asian girl with an Australian accent? Good God, you can sign me up right now!!!!!

Now, I must be honest, I didn't know about this goddess, until this month's aformentioned Maxim came in my mail. I looked at the cover and said to myself, "Wow! A beautiful Asian girl with a Latin last name on the cover of Maxim! Nice!" Needless to say, that made me a happy camper. As much as I enjoy Maxim, they need to put more Asian girls on the cover. Anyway, it's a great cover and a great shoot and fun interview inside.

Jessica Gomes has a beautiful, flawless face. Her naturally curvy body is made to model swimsuits, in my book. With her sexy accent and her exotic looks she stands head and shoulders above most models on this side of the Earth. And, for that I am VERY thankful!

NYCC 2011: Matthew Senreich on Robot Chicken

Matthew Senreich is, along with Seth Greene, the creator and executive producer of Cartoon Newtork's popular and highly enjoyable stop-motion animated Robot Chicken. The series is currently airing it's fifth season, and I had the pleasure of attending a press meeting at New York Comic Con last Friday. Senreich was quite funny and entertaining, as well as giving us really good answers to all our questions. I been a fan of the show since it's inception so getting to do this, a first for me, was very cool.

Seth Green was not present for this, unless you count the doll that Senreich has with him. He was, however, present for the panel, which I did could not attend.

16 Questions with The Twisted Twins: Jen and Sylvia Soska

I reviewed the amazing Dead Hooker in a Trunk last month and was blown away by it. I greatly admired the work put into by the two talented and beautiful film making twins, Jen and Sylvia Soska, who wore multiple hats in front of and behind the camera. It was such a pleasure to talk to the both of them. They talked to me about making this kick ass flick, their love for horror and movie making, and even talk a little about their highly anticipated second movie American Mary as well as lots other exciting and cool things. As a matter of fact, after conducting this interview my admiration for them grew even more.

1. Where did the idea for “Dead Hooker in a Trunk” come from?

Sylvia: We had been huge fans of Robert Rodriguez since we were little girls. Not only were his films uber cool, but he had these Ten Minute Film School segments where he showed the viewers how he made it cool with a limited budget. Jen and I had been acting since we were young, but we never got anything close to a Rodriuguez-level-of-cool for parts - as we got older the roles had less substance and more overt sexuality. We decided to leave acting to focus on stuntwork (if the roles did change, at least the type of work could) and found an excellent stunt program in a film school to get us trained - little did we know that it was an outsourced program and we were going to one of the biggest film scams in the city.

Thank God that GRINDHOUSE was in the theaters at the time. We would go to 'classes' were nothing was being taught and go to the theaters right after to watch the flick, so we could actually learn something that day. The fake trailers blew my mind - especially HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN. A Canadian filmmaker named Jason Eisener was part of GRINDHOUSE - it made me want to be a part of it too. One day while leaving the theater, Jen just turned to me and said 'Dead Hooker in a Trunk', everything came from that.

Jen: Almost out of nowhere, actually. We had been attending this film school at the time that was really a bad experience. The lessons were non-existent. So instead of sitting and waiting for something to be taught, we went out to the best kind of film school there is. The theaters. It was the summer of Tarantino and Rodriguez's joint beast, GRINDHOUSE, and we found ourselves hitting the theaters more often than spending time in class. One day leaving the theater, I turned to Sylv and said, "DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK". And that was the start of it all. Yes, it was a film title, but that was everything. We started there. The words DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK really sets up a film and a feeling. We wanted to make a film and we wanted the title to stand out, be unforgettable, and make people say, "I have to see that movie."

2. How did you get the budget together for it?

Sylvia: We already had a few credit cards when we started - we maxed them all out to pay for the film. The movie's actual cost was very modest because everyone who came onto set to make it was there because they love making movies and waived their fees. The hardest part was not having a job and working on the film - post took over a year and during that time we didn't eat, didn't pay bills, every additional dollar went into making the film or marketing it. A lot of people think that you make a movie and get paid, but that's not the case. You have to work on your project for years before you see any success and even longer before you see any money.

Jen: ha ha, yeah. That's a common misconception. We didn't get a budget for it. We just went out and made it cleaning out our modest savings and maxing out our credit cards. We are hugely inspired by Robert Rodriguez and his story of EL MARIACHI. His book that he wrote during the "making of" process is invaluable. It's a must have item for any filmmaker and everyone that loves film in general. He made that film with a mere $7,000. Sure, that might be easy to pull off, but the amazing thing is that the film doesn't look like it was made for 7 grand. Creatively, you can overcome many of the obstacles that big studios would just throw money at. I will tell you right here and now there isn't an easy way to do it, but there is a way. And it's worth every minute of it.

3. How was it working on such a low budget and doing so many different tasks on set?

Sylvia: It was definitely a challenge but we had the best team on the fucking planet. We lost our original Goody Two-Shoes two days before our first filming day and couldn't find an actress to replace her - there was no money and the subject matter turned a lot of people off. CJ Wallis came onboard to take to role, which was rewritten as a male part, and he brought a world of experience with him. The three of us became very close on set and worked very closely to make things run smoothly throughout the insanity.

The people you have on your team, supporting the project are so important. We had such a phenomenal team. A lot of what we wanted to do was incredibly ambitious and the word around town was that we were insane, but the people who actually came on board really got what we were going for. It became this big film family where everyone would work together to make the insanity come to life. No one was above any job - we were the first to arrive, set decorate the location, set up the action or scenario, film, wrap, and then we would stay until the location was completely cleaned.

There were things that went to hell but that's how every set works. What sets you apart is how quickly you can creatively problem solve - something that Rodriguez really promotes in his making of book - Rebel Without A Crew - which outlines how he created EL MARIACHI.

Jen: Not horrifying as you might expect from a production with so little money. I have our outstanding cast and crew to thank for that. Most of the time, cast and crew were one and the same. They were really the best of the best. We had the good fortune of shooting during that big writers strike a few years back. The result was that a lot of very talented people found themselves out of work with some free time on their hands. I'm so grateful to each and every person who helped out on DHIAT.

It was rough at times. I know that a lot of people wore a lot of hats, so to speak. Just check out the final credit scroll and see how many times the same names appear in different positions. We had to work very closely together to make sure that everything. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. Doing so many tasks can be exhausting, but I imagine if you're working on a film you are as passionate about as we were about DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK, it does give you this energy and drive. It's like a constant flow of second wins. I will tell you that it is tough and you should make sure to surround yourself with the best people. People with great attitudes. I would gladly take someone with a little less experience but a stellar attitude over someone with a shitload of experience that I know is gonna bitch and complain when the going gets rough. There are long days when you're filming. You need someone who is a pleasure to work with even after 16 grueling hours.

4. How does one exactly go about directing themselves in a movie?

Sylvia: Jen and I can be so brutal to one another, but we are best friends, so when we talk creatively - we don't bullshit one another. If I think something is shit, I tell her so. It's nice to not have to sugar coat things. She's an excellent actress - she's auditioned against me a lot and they usually cast her instead, ha ha. As for Badass, I wanted her to be like the badass heroes I grew up watching. She was my version of El.

But there are disadvantages to not being solely behind the camera, sometimes things get overlooked when you're not there overseeing everything. For that reason and a few others, we'll be stepping back from acting to focus on writing and directing. We have a pretty fun final cameo in our upcoming AMERICAN MARY.

Jen: Oh, I'm very hard on myself, ha ha. You check the monitor after the fact a whole lot. I'm a bit too in my own head when I act usually, but I found that with so many other things to be focused on, I didn't get caught up in all that. I think I'm a better actor because of it, which is a bit too bad as after we have a brief cameo in AMERICAN MARY we will be retiring from acting.

Sylv is great to direct. You don't have to worry about her not wanting to do something, she's always game. We like to say, "anything for the shot."

5. How do you two split duties and is there any difference in the way you two do things?

Sylvia: It can be confusing when you have two directors and even more confusing when they look the exact same. We make sure that we have pre-planned everything before walking onto set so we can be unified. Jen is very compassionate and kind - she has really good relationships with everyone and gets to know everything about them. She has this really crazy sense of humor that she puts into all our work which is amazing to counter-balance the dreadful, depressing shit I tend to enjoy. I'm a lot more stern than Jen. I will give people the benefit of the doubt, but I also tend to be the one who removes problematic people from a project. Life's too short to work with shitty people.

Jen: We thoroughly discuss everything between the two of us before even setting foot on set. We're both very passionate about what we do and we're siblings so it's possible that our usual Hungarian discussions can appear to be an argument to the untrained eye, ha ha. We have our preferences. We'll discuss who gets to write which scene. We come up with the concepts and outlines together. We compromise, even slightly. Like, you can write the opening if I can have the end scene. That sort of thing. We also divide what areas we'll be focusing on and which actors we'll be working more with. We decide who gets the final say on directing days, too. Thankfully, we think very similarly and understand one another very well. You'll never hear us say two very different things on set. We're already identical twins, no need to build on the confusion.

6. There is a great dark sense of humor in the movie, which is one of the aspects I really like about it, where did that come from?

Sylvia: We really got into horror through Stephen King novels. After seeing POLTERGEIST, our mom came up with a new horror movie rule - if you read the book, then you can watch the movie. She was genius - she tricked her ten year olds into reading at an intermediate level and love it. If there was anything we didn't understand, then she would explain it. I really feel bad for people whose parents censored the world for them. I learned about swearing and all sorts of foulness, but it was part of a story and it wasn't glorified to be something it wasn't.

With Stephen King's books, there is always this dark sense of humor in everything. CHRISTINE joked about how young men become possessed by their first car, CARRIE played with the prom obsession, everything was cleverly grim but with humor there to add levity. A story can go into much darker territory without alienating your audience if you have a few laughs in there. Like in DHIAT, we castrated a character then had a dog eat the severed penis - I remember hearing the laugh/groan in the theater and being very proud.

Jen: I completely blame mister King for our dark and demented senses of humor. Reading his novels at such a young and impressionable age, we inherited his humor. I always like my horror with moments of levity thrown into the mix. There's nothing quite like making your audience laugh in spite of it being one of those "oh, shit, I really shouldn't be laughing" instances. Horror should be like this emotional roller coaster. If there are no tone shifts, it's just kind of boring to me.

7. How did you get in contact with Carlos Gallardo of “El Mariachi” and how was it working with him?

Sylvia: It was so fucking surreal. We were still in production and we were making our film in the style of EL MARIACHI - real DIY/no budget creative filmmaking. The word was getting out about what we were doing - some people thought it was cool, others wanted to just see us fail. The story was posted on an independent film site by our friend and Carlos saw. We started talking and he was so incredibly supportive. It was like nothing else to be working on DHIAT and having Carlos there to give you advice.

We put a small cameo character of God in the film. We wanted to get someone like Carlos and never imagined we would actually work together. He is truly one of the most down to earth, kind, and generous people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Filmmaking was still very new to me and meeting someone like Carlos made me so nervous - but meeting him, all that went away. He makes you feel like family, he loves filmmaking and it shows in everything that he does. I remember showing him the semi-truck scene and he turns to me and says, 'Just like El.' His character from EL MARIACHI and who I based Badass on - one of the coolest moments of my life.

Jen: It was unbelievable. I mean, we love EL MARIACHI. We carried REBEL WITHOUT A CREW on us at all times while shooting DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK and called it "the Bible". To not only have the opportunity to meet Carlos, the original El, but to get to work with him? It was a real thrill and a true pleasure. The man is a huge inspiration not only to us, but to every independent film maker out there. If it wasn't for EL MARIACHI, we would have never made DHIAT. Carlos is as much a supporter now of independent film and artists as he ever was. He's a professional and a great actor. We couldn't have asked for a better and more fitting "God".

8. There is some real exciting stunt work in the movie including my favorite where Badass is pulled by a horse, how was it shooting that scene?

Sylvia: We had gone into film school to put our extensive martial arts training to good use, so having some very fucking cool stunts were very important. We shot the horse drag scene twice - once for the fake trailer and once for the feature. The first time we did it for the trailer - it was all me and the horse. Unfortunately the actor who we had be the Cowboy Pimp for the trailer had one of the biggest hissy fits I had ever seen. It ended with him giving us the ultimatum of firing our camera crew or he would leave.

Well, you can't shoot without cameras and seeing as he was the one that decided to pick a fight - I chose my crew and Jen convinced him to stay for the final shot. He had decided that I was a cunt, his word usage, and wanted to teach me a lesson. We started the take and he took off down the road, slicing me to ribbons. I lost about five inches of skin. After that, our stunt coordinator on the feature, Loyd Bateman, decided to bring in the uber talented stunt lady, Maja Stace-Smith, to be my double. She did the two leg drop kick and the horse drag. For my coverage, I got tied to a truck that would drag me down the street.

There had been so much insanity with so many jobs on set, that by the time I was in my harness tied to the truck, I hadn't thought about the stunt at all. Loyd came over to me and asked if I was ready - I said yes. The engine started and I thought to myself, oh shit, this could be really stupid. The stunt guys were just phenomenal - we got some extremely gritty, high action, reality based stunts in the film. My favorite was Badass versus Killer, played by Loyd. He's such a fucking pro and a pleasure to fight with. After the sequence with the bag over my head, the whole team looked horrified and we were just laughing. You feel good when you know you're doing the work and getting what you were going for.

Jen: It was pretty easy for me, ha ha. You know, the best thing about having your twin as an actor is that you can really ask her to do anything and you won't get any complaints. Sylv is as tough as nails and never bitches. I put her through things I really couldn't have asked of anyone else. I spat blood in her face to match some earlier blood continuity. I had her dragged behind a truck through horse crap (not intentionally). I asked her to never ever zip up her coat in the dead of a Canadian winter. And she never complained.

9. Did anyone get hurt in in any other scene?

Sylvia: It was very important to us that the stunts were very realistic, so a lot of the cast were actors as well as stunt performers. The harshest day was also the harshest scene in the film - the Hooker's death at the hands of the Killer. We had the brilliant, Lauro 'Lash' Chartrand guest coordinate the sequence. He was our instructor at film school and without his generous support, there wouldn't have been a DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK.

The feeling had to be a severe tone shift because we wanted to show the complete horror of the destruction of this human being. Lauro came up with a hardcore scene that our Hooker, Tasha Moth, and Killer, Loyd Bateman, would create. We shot for sixteen hours and I have to say that these people are some of the hardest working, most balls to wall artists I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Like any huge sequence, there are a couple of things that are hard on the body, but you would have never known because everyone was such a professional. Tasha called me the next day and, between giggles, told me that she was pissing blood. I hope that was a joke, but there's a good chance it wasn't.

Jen: We had some of the best stunt professionals anyone could ever ask for on DEAD HOOKER. Loyd Bateman, our producer, camera operator, and Killer, was on set every single day to ensure that any and every stunt was carefully planned and executed. Laura Lee Connery did our stunt driving for us. It was awesome. I got to body double as Junkie next to her playing Badass and it was so epic to be in the passenger seat as an incredibly stunt driver whips around in a '69 Firebird. Insane. Even the bit in the hotel room where Badass chokes out one cop and knocks out the other was carefully walked through before we shot.

What a lot of people might not realize is that when a stunt performer goes through a glass table, even if it's made of candy glass, it fucking hurts. Often break away furniture is used and it's really just hard wood furniture sawed through in key areas to help make it fall apart more easily when met with an impact. Tasha Moth, our Hooker, really took a beating during her death scene. She's a very strong woman.

There was a full stunt team in on the night that Loyd Bateman did his full body burn. It was his first and it was outstanding. It's unheard of for a stunt performer to do such an intense stunt for an independent film.

10. How long did the shooting process for this film take?

Sylvia: At first, the shooting was very casual. We had no money, so we shot on evenings and weekends to accommodate everyone's schedule. We started in October, missed a few weeks because people had to go out of town, availability, etc. so, by the time it was December, I was getting nervous about getting everything shot by early next year. We increased shooting days in January, then shot very regularly in February - almost every day.

Our total shooting days were about twenty. We had some crazy fucking days. Our last big shooting day, we shot 23 different scenes on CJ Wallis/Goody Two-Shoes' birthday. He didn't get a party, but we set Loyd on his full body burn at the end of the day - so that beats a candle on a cake any day.

Jen: It was very helter skelter. We tried to work around people's schedules, which is the most considerate thing you can do given that these people were volunteering their time, but it just wasn't working out. Too much time was being lost and, it being winter, we kept losing more and more hours of sunlight daily. We had to shoot more regularly. We picked up the pace big time and shot through Christmas. It was a little bit sad. If you haven't read REBEL WITHOUT A CREW, go grab a copy. Seriously. There's this part in it around Christmas when Robert flies to LA to try to sell EL MARIACHI. He's spent everything he's got on the film and doesn't make the sale. He describes what a piece of shit he feels like for not being able to provide for his family, who have stood by him through his film making, for Christmas. It's really heart breaking. It made our own rough Christmas a little less rough. It was like, "if Robert can make it through this, so will we."

11. The reaction to this film has been very positive. I, myself, loved it. How do you two feel about the all the good word it has been getting?

Sylvia: Thank you for saying that. We made this movie because we weren't seeing the kinds of movies that we wanted to see being made. We grew up on all these crazy flicks and wanted to make something you can just watch and have a great time. I'm actually blown away by the response that the film was gotten. The horror community is the reason why the film has been so successful. At first, many festivals turned the film away on title alone and we wondered if it would ever get a chance to play in front of an audience.

Then the first annual Women In Horror Recognition Month happened in February 2010, brainchild of Ax Wound's Hannah Neurotica, and there were all these festivals that were focusing on female filmmakers. That was the big beginning. We premiered at the Ghouls on Film Festival in the UK - courtesy of Nia Edwards-Behi, then at the DOA Pretty Scary Bloodbath Film Fest in the US - courtesy of Andrew Rose. Once people watched the flick - they started talking about it. Like pimping it out hardcore.

Every person who talked about the film, reviewed it, screened it, supported it in any way is the reason why it has spread so far. By the time we went to the film market, every major studio had already heard about 'this Dead Hooker film.' It was surreal.

Jen: It's very humbling. I honestly wake up every morning and think about how damn lucky I am to be doing what I'm doing. I'm a horror fan myself. It's a dream come true for me and Sylv to be able to bring our stories to life. It's astonishing that people dig what we're doing. We had two dreams for DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK. One was to make a film that was pure enjoyment for our audiences and the other was to share that film with as many people as possible. Thanks to the horror community and their never ending support, we have been able to do both. I feel that this film belongs to every horror fan. You ever watch a movie and think, "fuck, I wish a semi would drive by and take that chicks arm off" or "wouldn't it be funny if that girl's eye popped out"? Well, we think that weird shit all the time and thought why not?

I hope that people not only enjoy our work, but that our story inspires others to chase after their dreams. When I first started telling people I was a film maker, many laughed in my face. People said we were crazy to try to make a movie without a budget. That it was the wrong way to do things. They said the film would never be released and certainly never be in theaters. And just look how far we've come. The film has been picked up by IFC Midnight, is in theaters and Video On Demand, out already on DVD in the UK and Australia, and will be out on DVD worldwide in January. Never listen to someone who tells you your dreams are unrealistic. More often than not they're just people who gave up on their own dreams.

12. How did you go about selling your movie once it was done and did you face any issues due to the film’s title or content?

Sylvia: I'm surprised that we didn't have problems with the title or content with distributors, but the title kind of gauges whether you will like the film or not. We have very creative partners on our sales team at Industry Works and they wanted to get us what we really wanted. The most important thing was that people would see the film. The companies that ended up distributing it - IFC Midnight, Bounty Films, and Monster Pictures - are very supportive of their artists and have done everything in their power to keep our vision as we intended it.

The team you work with makes a big difference. The team at Industry Works was spoiled us rotten. We wanted theatrical - we got limited theatrical midnight screenings throughout the US. We wanted a television premiere - we got screened on The Horror Channel. We wanted to follow up with AMERICAN MARY - they made it happen and they let us keep some very high concept, envelope-pushing material in the script. Actually, no one has ever asked me to tone anything down. I think I was asked if I could make a safe for TV cut, which ended with laughter and that is would be a twenty minute hack job.

Jen: The only instance where there was an issue with the film's content or title was earlier this year when it was banned by the Roxy Theater in Saskatoon. That was a real disappointment. They had said it was out of consideration for escorts who had been killed in the area, but I must respectfully ask, where in the world do prostitutes not get killed? It's not something I at all think is okay by any means, actually quite the opposite. It is absurd to say that it is a problem in Saskatoon alone. The Pickton Killer in Vancouver preyed on escorts and we didn't have a problem at all screening the film here. The film's title is intentionally ridiculous and satirical. To name a film something so blunt and then totally disrespect the title character would be tasteless. The theater refused to even watch the film. Had they, they would have seen that despite the body count and disregard for human life, the four unlikely heroes do everything in their power to lay the hooker's body to rest.

They had at one point suggested we change the title and we flat out refused. That title alone has made people check the film out in the first place. We intentionally chose something that would stand out, be unforgettable, and that would make people say, "I've gotta see that film!!". In the immortal words of John Cleese, "some people deserve to be offended." I remember watching SNL as a child and it was so not PC. Now it's like everyone's afraid of offending anyone. I say, offend everyone. That way no one's singled or left out. Life's too short to take yourself so seriously.

13. You girls are clearly horror fans, what are some of you favorite horror films?

Sylvia: Is it that transparent? Ha ha. My all time favorite horror is AMERICAN PSYCHO, directed by the amazing, Mary Harron. It's not a coincidence that the title character of our new feature shares her name. SUICIDE CLUB is beautiful - I wish I made it. It's that good. MARTYRS is unlike anything I've ever seen. Hardcore, unrelenting brutality with a predominately female cast. Brilliant. HELLRAISER changed my life. I recently met Clive Barker and told him about the influence he had on me and how his work inspired AMERICAN MARY. One of the nicest, coolest human beings ever. That man redefines what horror should be.

Jen: ha ha, obviously all the same ones as Sylvie. I love Japanese horror, anything Miike. LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is a masterpiece. I like the original. Never been one for remakes. We're big fans of Stephen King. THE SHINING was wonderful. "Come play with us, Danny." I can't believe we never dressed up as those twins for Halloween. I'm a huge admirer of prosthetics and the outstanding artists that create them. I love JACOB'S LADDER, THE THING, SLITHER, and, of course, THE EXORCIST. I do love a good horror musical. THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW and PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE are incredible.

14. Who are your biggest film making influences?

Sylvia: Robert Rodriguez and Carlos Gallardo taught me how to make a film with no budget, creatively. Not only were the movies hip, but the Ten Minute Film School segments showed you how to do it yourself. The eye gag in HOOKER was learned from the Film School on the ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO DVD extras. Every director involved in GRINDHOUSE hugely inspired us because that movie changed our lives.

Eli Roth is not only a badass filmmaker that broke the 90s trend of PG horror with his flicks, but when we contacted all the directors involved in GRINDHOUSE, he was the one who responded to us and really helped us get the project to the next level. It was a conversation with him that brought the script for AMERICAN MARY. It was while talking to him that I learned how to pitch a movie. And through conversations with him that I learned more about the process about making a film. He's a wonderful friend and a honest to goodness, horror aficionado. The bloodbath sequence that he did in HOSTEL 2 is one of my all time favorite sequences.

Mary Harron is a big influence. I was introduced to her when Toronto was trying to keep AMERICAN PSYCHO from filming in the city because of its content. I saw this beautiful, painfully intelligent, and eloquent woman defending the artistic merit and satire of the film - and I wanted to be her. Same thing when I saw Lars Von Trier defend ANTICHRIST at Cannes. I not only love their brave approach to their work, but also how they defend their rights to express that work. Maybe that's partly why I am pushing the envelope so much with MARY - I want to see if I can do that too.

Jen: No one can deny that Tarantino and Rodriguez are masters of cinema. They are both huge inspirations to us and surely everyone else.

I, twinly enough, love the same directors Sylvie has mentioned and for the same reasons. We also love Takashi Miike and Chan-wook Park. I love Asian horror. It's so original and unique. I am a huge fan of Joss Whedon. It's actually a bit much. I love his dialogue and the way he plays with language. His characters are so unique and go through these amazing and thoughtful arcs. He also kills off his lead characters without warning which keeps his audience always on alert. He can write wonderful comedic moments and then have you all teary in the next. I couldn't be more excited for THE AVENGERS.

I adore Hideo Kojima. He's a genius. For those of you who may not know him, he's the creator, director, and writer of the METAL GEAR SOLID series.

15. I am very much looking forward to the movie you two are currently working on “American Mary” with Katharine Isabelle. What can you tell us about it?

Sylvia: The story follows medical student, Mary Mason played by the intoxicatingly talented Katharine Isabelle, as she grows increasingly broke and disenchanted with medical school and the surgeons she once admired. The allure of easy money sends her into the messy world of underground surgeries that leaves more marks on her than her so-called 'freakish' clientele. We are in heavy prep right now and going to camera very soon. I don't want to give away too much because I like to surprise people. I promise you won't be disappointed. This film is a thank you to the horror community that got us here. It going to be something else.

Jen: Very little, ha ha. The project is very unique and original. We've taken great care to keep its content, plot, and characters as secret as possible. The script itself is carefully guarded. It's rough because I'd love nothing more than to speak in depth about the film. I can tell you that we have an incredible team assembled. I'm privileged to be working with Todd Masters and his phenomenal team at MastersFX. We have a truly wonderful cast and crew. The film is going to redefine horror.

16. What do you think the future holds for you two?

Sylvia: It feels like some many things are possible. I want to help bring that excitement in horror that I felt with the films I watched while growing up. AMERICAN MARY is my main priority right now. After that, we will be traveling with the film and promoting the holy hell out of it. We had started prep on another feature, BOB, when we were struggling to find the right home to make MARY, that we would like to start on next year.

Brainmachine Comix has a series where they based two vampire twins on Jen and I called Kold and Shades Blood which will be out in April. The issue and series is The Unforgivable #4 Necrowpolis. Girls like us have long dreamed to be comic book characters, so we hope to be able to pimp that out next year and hopefully get some cool plastic costumes in the process.

The big goal is to build Twisted Twins Productions to the point where we can not only finance our own films, but also develop and produce new indie artists. There's an onslaught of soulless studio crap being pumped onto screens and I want to do my part to counter-balance that with fresh, fearless films.

Jen: I couldn't have said it better myself. We have so many stories to tell between the two of us. BOB will likely be the next one. I look forward to making THE MAN WHO KICKED ASS. That one is really special to me. It's way too early to talk about yet. We have a TV series we've been writing ideas for and talking about since we were teenagers. We have a couple video games we'd like to do, too.

I'd like to continue to build the Twisted Twins brand. I love the Massive Blood Drive we started as a world wide event for Women In Horror month. We've recently joined the Women In Horror Board of Directors and we'd like to help make that event grow and grow in the coming years. We release an annual PSA to encourage blood donation each February and are always trying to top ourselves.

It's a dream of ours to co-host the Scream Awards. It's the horror awards show and we religiously watch it every year. I know we could put on one hell of a show. I'd also love to co-host SNL. Who doesn't? I've always thought it would be cool to have directors and writers host.

We've got so many things we'd like to do and so many films we'd like to make. It would be ideal to be able to finance our own films and help independent artists make theirs. We are right now dabbling in distribution. I hate hearing horror stories where film makers get screwed out of making anything on their work. NYCC 2011: Day 2, Part 2

There were a lot of celebrities at NYCC, but I have to say unlike say, Chiller, this con is not as easy to meet celebs. Many charge a lot and ask that you buy their autographs in advanced. Really?! Sorry, but I ain't using my credit card for that.

But, I did really want to meet Nicki Clyne, IE Callie from Battlestar Galatica. I thought she was great in the series and cute to boot. She was only charging 20 bucks, which ain't bad. Well, plus 10 for a pic with her. I didn't do that. In fact, I don't think I was suppose to take pics of her at all. But, I'm press damn it! So here ya go. See, what I do for you, my loyal friends and readers?

In all seriousness, when I went to pay for her autograph (as I said you ain't going get me to pre-order a fraking autograph), I told them I wanted my DVD of season one signed. They said, that's it 20, and I get the 8x10, if I wanted it.

Well, I figured, hey, I'll get both signed! So, I get up to her, and she is very sweet and friendly. She signs my DVD, and we talk about her character getting killed and, thus, being fraked (sorry, if this ruins it for someone out there). But, she says that I have to pay for the 8x10 to get signed. I tell her they gave it to me regardless. She says next time. Uh, no next time babe. Still, I enjoyed meeting her. Well, other than the whole 8x10 fiasco.

I attended the Robot Chicken press conference, but that'll get it's own up-coming psot, so instead let's go to what I saw at the Marvel/ Avenger's booth.

It is the S.H.I.E.L.D. set from the film, and it looked cool! They had three hotties cosplaying, and then invited others that did Marvel cosplay to join them on stage. Some did not wear Marvel cosplay, yet got onstage. Since, they didn't follow orders you won't find them here. Sorry.

I am pretty sure Domino is carrying weapons of mass destruction.

And, before we bid Friday farewell, I should mention one cosplay that was so fucking awesome, and seen all weekend at the convention: Pedo-Bear!! Everyone's favorite pedophiliac bear from Attack of the Show would come up to you and play the role awesomely! I was dying and laughing my ass off, as I saw him over the course of the next few days! Definitely one of my favorites!

Horror Movie Viewings for October 2011

As has been a custom for the last two years, I will let you know the horror movies, I have watched so far this month of October. I always hope this will help you decide what to watch or not watch this month. And, as always I wanna know you have been watching. Anyway, here we go:

Friday the 13th Pt. 2- Jason takes center stage as the villain and takes vengeance for the death of his psycho mom at the end of the first and classic film. This enjoyable entry in the series is pretty much a typical slasher, but it's helped greatly by some good acting (best of which has to be Amy Steel as the final girl) and Jason looking ever so creepy in his sack head mask. The beginning is fucking great, too. Too bad the MPAA butchered it.

Poltergeist- Family moves into haunted house. Their little daughter gets kidnapped by the ghosts. They call for help to get her back into our world. Directed by Tobe Hooper and produced by Steven Spielberg (though some reports say Spielberg was behind the camera...), this is, to me, Hooper's second best film (TCM remains his masterpiece). It's exciting, scary, fun, and heartfelt. And, for those who think there can be such thing as good PG horror movie take a look at how amazing this classic is. That being said, this one has more shocking stuff than ANY PG or even PG-13 movie would ever dare have today. The FX by ILM are still cool, and Jo Beth Williams is a total MILF!! In all, it amounts to my fav haunted house film, ever. Oh yeah, one more thing. This movie looks and sounds AMAZING on blu-ray!!!!

House on the Edge of the Park- In honor of the passing of the great David Hess, I had to revisit this mean-spirited and nasty film from Cannibal Holocaust director Ruggero Deodato. Alone with Her- A creeper uses hidden video camera to record, follow, and stalk a beautiful Latin woman (the gorgeous Ana Claudia Talancon) he has an obsession with. Easily one of the best found footage horror films, this creepy and disturbing horror/ thriller is sometimes underrated and overlooked. It gets under your skin and will seriously creep you out. I would imagine if you are a girl it is even more scary. The acting is excellent. Talancon is great and a very underrated actress. Plus, she is absolutely gorgeous!! Why is this woman not getting more roles? Oh yeah, she is also fully nude. Yum!!

The Bride of Frankenstein- Dr. Frankenstein and the evil Dr. Preterious make a mate for the monster in THE finest horror film of the golden era. Beautifully shot by James Whales it is moving, funny, and scary. The acting is excellent and sets amazing. Truly one of the greatest movies in the history of cinema and a personal favorite of mine.

Devil- Five strangers are trapped in an elevator. One of them is Satan! Preposterous, stupid, and sanctimonious bullshit comes courtesy of M. Night Shymalan's script. And, yes there is a twist. One that is a real groaner. The ending is a high and mighty piece of fucking shit. The explanation as to why the hell Lucifer is doing this is so fucking stupid. Ugh, I could go and on. In short you will feel like you are in hell watching this horrid crap!

NYCC 2011: Day 2, Part 1

While, yesterday had been a relaxing day; this one proved to be the beginning of pure insanity. Was I up to the task? You bet your ass I was!!!

Now, I neglected to mention in my first post on NYCC, that the NYCC app was an epic fail and crashed when I updated it at the con, the day before. I woke up extra early to redo my schedule, and I redownloaded the app (despite the fact that it's an awful app, I really needed to have it for my benefit). I then got ready to leave and meet up with my friend Alan, again.

As would soon be my tradition, I got on line to do coat check then on another line to buy some Starbucks (hmm, Starbucks!). The line was long. It was clear that they made a killing at this show! I soon noticed that the amount of cosplay grew considerably, from yesterday. Yep, that was THE first sign of just how much bigger this day was in comparison to the day, before.

Here is a taste of some of my favorites from that day:

Do you like hot goth chicks? Well if you are like me, then the answer is, "Fuck yeah!!" And, so one of my favorite booths to visit and photograph was VampireFreaks. Admit ably, I used to be on that site ages ago. While, I no longer use it, it was fun to see them there. On this day, a hottie was dancing her butt off.

In keeping with the vampire/ goth theme the next booth I hit up was the awesome Vamplets booth. Now, as some of you older readers might recall I did a review and covered them after Toy Fair, earlier this year, for the Gorezone. I really love their product, and they were very grateful of what I wrote about them.

This was also the first day that I met a celeb, at this con. At the G4 table Blair Butler was signing. The line was slow moving and long, but my friend tagged along to keep me company. We talked to some guys on the line so, it went by faster. Well OK, faster than if could have, otherwise... One thing, though, some dude doing Joker cosplay jumped the line to talk to her. It pissed off the people on the line, needless to say. But, I soon learned that Blair is far to sweet to tell this guy off. She liked my Marvel Civil War shirt. And, she was flattered when I gave her my buisness card. Her wonderful personality, made it and utter and compete pleasure to meet her, despite the long wait.

There was even more insanity on Friday, but that is for the next installment. Stay tuned!!!!

NYCC 2011: Day 1

Make no bones about it, New York Comic Con (NYCC) is THE biggest convention on the Eastcoast. And, after years of not going, I, the Master, returned with a vengeance. Extended to four days, instead of the regular three and with a ton of guests, panels, and exclusive toys, this promised to be THE biggest one yet.

The very first day was on Oct. 13, 2011, a Thursday. This day was open only to pros, press, and those who bought a four day ticket. So, it was nice an quiet and a great day to walk around the Jacob Javits Center (where the con is held). It started at 4PM, and I, long with my friend Alan, got there about that time.

First and foremost, as soon as you walk you in are reminded just how big this convention is. There are so many rooms and three floors that are used, so it is very easy to get lost. We certainly did. We even lost certain tables. It's insanity!

The first booth I visited was Hasbro. They had an amazing display of some of their Marvel comics figures. It was really an amazing looking set-up.

I also took the chance to pick up the exclusive Compound Hulk figure. He appeared in issue #30, when they were both joined as one. I admit I ain't read a Hulk comic in ages, but even if this whole thing is silly I loved the figure. I had to own it, moreso at a mere 11 bucks. Here it is with some other figures (including an exclusive Deadpool Mini-Mates) I got over the course of the next fews days.

I also had the chance to become an official Avengers action figure! Well, OK not really, but I think this pic, taken by Alan, aka NegativePop, is pretty cool. What do you think my assecories would be, if I was a real action figure?

Also, at Hasbro was a cutie who worked for them cosplaying as Jem. For those who may not know Jem was a cartoon based on a girl's doll about a pop singer named Jem and her band the Holograms. I admit to watching that show. You know you did, too! Don't deny it!

Next up was a visit to Mattel, where I there were awesome displays for WWE, DC, and Master of the Universe action figures.

There are beauties all over the show. Some of them are working at booths, like this stunning lady. She worked at the Vixens of Virtue, Vixens of Vice booth. She didn't reveal on which side her character will be, but one cool thing she told me is that she is a fellow writer. I actually got a bunch of pics of her, so look for future installments, of this series of posts, for more of her!

I did a little wondering here and there and saw more cool things. Due to the relaxed feeling this was easily my second favorite day of the whole event. But the REAL craziness was yet, to come...

Experiment in Torture

A bunch of strippers, lured by easy money, go to a remote mountain getaway. Suddenly, they are drugged, tortured, and/ or ultimately killed by a sadistic madman.

This piss poor slasher meets torture porn crap is truly bottom of the barrel shit. The acting is piss poor and the dialogue even worse. There is a scene where, and I kid you not here, a girl sits in a toilet and all drugged out, thanks her pussy for all it has given her! Sadly, this flick never rises above the toilet, itself. Characters pop in and out of nowhere. And, what makes it even worse is there is no character development throughout its miserable running time. You truly won't give a flying fuck what happens to anybody in this piece of shit.

I have no clue how it took two to write this crap, since the movie makes no narrative sense. I still don't understand some of it, and quite frankly I don't care to. The flat directing gives the movie zero suspense. There is some horrible shakey camera work, where you can't see shit, and the ending is terrible. The ending is one those, "That's it?!" type deals that makes the preceding even more pointless. But, hey at least it was fucking over!! The end credits by the way have the title track, which is not only a godawful song, but has some ridiculous lyrics like, "Kinda makes me sad to sing this song". You know what makes me sad? That a major studio, Lionsgate in this case, releases filth like this.

On top of that, the editing is also pretty fucking bad. In fact, in one scene, there is a jump cut. Really? Maybe, these guys set out to make the world's most amateur Saw/ Hostel/ slasher flick rip-off in history. If so, congrats assholes! You fucking succeeded with flying colors!

Now, you might say well, maybe the gore is good. Well, you're wrong there, too! Most of the violence occurs off-screen, and when you do see it, the FX look terrible and cheap, including the most fake looking decapitation and amputation, I have seen outside of a student movie. In keeping with the cheap look and feel of the movie, the DVD transfer flat out sucks. It's dark and grainy, and I doubt that was done for any "effect".

The only thing I can say positive about it is the girls are pretty. There is a lot of nudity at the beginning, but after that NOTHING! They're strippers for God's sake! Give us more flesh! Still, this is NO reason to see this, though, as there so many better horror movies with strippers as protagnists, including a bunch of Roger Corman flicks from the 90s.

In all, this movie is an experiment in torture alright. But, it only really succeeded in torturing me. Fuck this one!!

A Tribute to the Nicest Bad Guy: David Hess (1942-2011)

It is with great sadness that I write this tribute to one of my favorite actors of all time: David Hess. I was devastated when I heard about it yesterday. It's a huge loss not just to the horror world, but the world in general.

Hess was born in New York City on September 19, 1942. He actually wrote some music for the King, himself, Elvis Presley. By 1969, he would become the head of A&R for Mercury Records.

But, his biggest legacy came from his movie roles. He got bthe lead villain role of Krug in Wes Craven's classic and controversially brutal The Last House on the Left. He played the leader of a group of scumbags that rape, beat, humilate, and kill two pretty girls, only to have bloody revenge from the parents of one of the girls, happen to them. Hess was great in the role. An evil and despicable character that would go to be one of cinema's best villains. He also wrote and performed the songs for the movie. This is Waiting for the Rain from that great movie.

He had a similar role playing yet another vile rapist in Ruggero (Cannibal Holocaust) Deodato's mean-spirited and excellently acted House on the Edge of the Park. He had a great cast to play off of, and the movie is very intense and savage. The scene where he slices a pretty, fully nude virgin with a straight razor is pretty hard stuff to watch. As is always the case, Hess was just amazing as the sleazy and utterly menacing scumbag.

While, he had many more roles, the next one I saw of his was his was his return to working with horror master Wes Craven, Swamp Thing. A medicore adaption of the DC comics horror/ super-hero comic of the same name is kind of forgettable, but not that bad. It is helped by his acting, as a baddie of course, and the rest of the cast, including, the beautiful Adrienne Barbaeu.

The last movie I saw with him, was the last movie he shot fully, Smash Cut. It's quite a different role from his other horror roles, in that while he plays the villain, it's a light-heart fun romp. He had a great and fun cast to work with including the lovely Sasha Grey. I personally had such a good time watching this one.

I had the pleasure of meeting him back in 2001, I believe, when he did Chiller Theatre. He was so nice to me, as he was with all his fans. He signed my 8x10 with "Piss your pants", a quote from Last House.

On Saturday, he died of a heartache. He leaves behind three kids. Hess will always be remember by his fans as one of the greatest villains of the splatter age of horror. He will also always be remembered for how fan friendly he was. God bless you, David Hess and may you RIP.

Dr. Satan Lives!!!

Dr. Satan has been a long time staple in the Chiller Theatre Expo. For the last couple of years he has been haunting the eastcoast biggest and best horror convention.

Inspired by the character of the same name from Rob Zombie's cult favorite House of 1000 Coprses, long time horror fan and metalhead, Pat Keenan, decided to dress up as him at Chiller. When, he saw how successful it was, he decided to stick with it.

It has become part of Chiller tradition to see him haunt the hallways of the convention. Where ever he goes he always draws a lot of attention. Believe me, I've hung and followed the guy around. Everyone wants to get a picture with him. Even celebrities want pics him. Beautiful female celebs, at that, some of whom will charge others for pics with. They will go up to him ask him to take a picture with them! He is, thus, a celeb, in his own right. At the right you will see a great example of this, as the lovely Tara (formerly Victoria of WWE) of TNA got a picture with him.

Whats most awesome about him, is not just how good the costume and mask are, but how he stays in character. He remains quite and menacing, throughout. He won't even say a word for a pretty girl! That's pretty impressive and shows some great dedication to the role and character.

I, myself, am quite the fan of seeing Dr. Satan roam around Chiller. And, I don't just say this as the guy's friend. Even, if I didn't know the man behind the mask I would still be a fan. After all, I really love Zombie's movie and the character, and he more than does him justice. He IS Dr. Satan!

Naughty Swag and Raven Alexis Team-Up for a Good Cause

I first heard about beautiful adult actress Raven Alexis being very ill, through via Twitter. But, it was later that I heard that what she has is brain cancer. It's really heartbreaking to hear what she is going through, but her posts always show how strong she is. But, this most recent bit of news proves that she is not only beautiful outside but inside as well.

As I read today on Genesis.com (in this post: http://www.genesisonline.com/04/naughty-swag-partners-with-raven-alexis-for-a-good-cause/), she and new promo company Naughty Swag have teamed up to produce these awesome "Team Alexis Raven: Fuck Cancer!" tees. They were originally wanted to make the proceeds go to help her, but she felt that it should go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. I am very touched by this and admire her greatly. I think you all need to go out and buy one. You can do so by visiting the site (http://naughtyswag.com/) and clicking on Raven Alexis' name.

So, please go and show your support for her and the battle with cancer. And, God bless you, Raven. I wish you all the best and mean this from the bottom of my heart.

Four Entires in The Howling Series

One horror franchise that that I have no clue how it kept/ keeps inspiring sequels is The Howling. To me the first movie is THE finest werewolf movie ever made. Joe (Piranha, Gremlins) Dante's classic is scary, funny, sexy, awe inspiring, and thoroughly enjoyable.

A reporter (the lovely Dee Wallace Stone) barely escapes a serial killer in a porn shop. She is sent to a colony to rehab. But, said colony is overrun by werewolves. Everything about this movie is perfect: the acting, the dialogue, the script, the pacing, the FX. I have discussed this movie multiple times here, so I won't bore you by repeating myself again. Suffice to say that this one of my eleven favorite movies of all time. Sadly after that the series went downhill. ****

That movie was a success, and considered a classic (rightfully so, I may add), so, of course, it spawned a sequel. The Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf is a truly stupid movie. As I am sure you can tell by that ridiculous sub-title. Ben, the brother of Wallace Stone's character finds out that the world is full of werewolves, along with the help of a hunter (Christopher Lee), who convinces him of this, they go after Striba Queen of the Werewolves (yummy Sybil Danning)!

The werewolves look like shit, and it's all pretty empty headed. Worst of all it's a waste of Christoper Lee's immense talent. Hey, everyone needs a paycheck! On the bright side, Sybil Danning, and her boobs, look amazing! Clearly, the filmmakers agree as they loop her nudity over the end credits over and over again. The movie has a cult following due mostly, I would imagine, to this bit of fine knockers. It's really only worth watching for that! Beyond that, though, not so much... *1/2

That said part II was successful on some level (tits!!!), enough so that it inspired more films, though I would never bother to watch them, until I for some godforsaken reason, saw the snoozefest that is The Howling IV: The Original Nightmare. An authoress is sent to a to a town after a nervous breakdown. Problem is there are werewolves there. That ain't gonna cure her nerves. To be honest this movie put me mostly to sleep, and I find it hard to remember anything about it other than it sucked wolf cock. *

But, after reading some good reviews I decided to pay the Howling VI: The Freaks a look. This one takes place in a traveling carnival, it has the werewolf as the hero, who gets hired to be in the freakshow by the owner. Problem is the owner is actually an evil vampire! DOH! In all fairness, this is an enjoyable and fun movie. This one really shocked me, as there is no reason for this movie to be this good. ***

That did not mean that I wanted more of these films to be made, but sadly the series continued. And, I went back to ignoring it. The most recent entry The Howling: Reborn is a reboot of the series, that based on the trailer and what I heard from a friend, seems to be an attempt to make the series into a Twilight type pile of shit. Why?! I am in no rush to see this one, and to be honest, looks worse then the movies that preceded it!

By the way, this came thanks to a suggestion by authoress Staci Wilson, who tweeted to me to do something on The Howling series. When I asked on my Facebook page (which you should totally like as I post exclusive stuff there!) and Twitter, what franchises, scream queens, movies, etc. in the horror genre you wanna see me cover on this blog. Since it's October I really want to post lots of horror stuff. So just let me know. Thank you!
