NECA at Toy Fair 2015

NOTE: Most of the these toys will be rolling out in spring, summer, or autumn of this year.

NECA has long been one of my favorite toy companies. And, their booth is always one of my favorites to hit up at Toy Fair. This year it was no different as they had a huge amount of toys to please my, and your, love for horror, sci-fi, action, and metal with some of the finest action figures and geeky collectibles you are likely find ANYWHERE!

First off, is their ever growing and truly amazing line of Alien/ Aliens toys. Last year they gave us the stunning Alien Queen, now we are getting more figures from James Cameron's seminal sci-fi/ horror/ action classic.

The best gore scene in Aliens is when the heroic and noble Bishop is ripped in half by the aforementioned Alien Queen. Covered in cyborg "blood" bisected Bishop is bound to please the fans looking for more gooey looking figures in the series.

We will also be getting a Ripley in the powerlifter, so she can battle the Queen, right after her above mentioned friend gets torn in half! You will notice some Alien eggs in the pictures. Well, those are being sold in a six pack, with some open and closed. They will also come with facehuggers. Man, all these pieces will amount to some killer displays by fans!!!

Also coming out is a Ripley from the first film, with her flame thrower so she can BBQ some Xenomorphs!
More figures from the original horror classic are shown above, as well as a Xenomorph based on his appearance in the Alien 3 video game!
Are you one of those horror fans, who like me, said, goddamn I wish I had that Kenner figure that got pulled from stores in the 70's? If so NECA are gonna give you the chance to finally own him! Hell yeah! Just check out the awesome prototype to the left!

If we are gonna get some new Alien toys, then we some new Predator toys, too, right? Well despair not! As follows we are getting some fucking badass toys of the deadly hunter from another world!!!

To the right you will see Predators that inspired/ based off of the old Kenner line, hence the crazy color schemes. The detail is, of course, amazing on these, and they look like they could hunt and kill ALL your other figures! The packaging, which you can see below, also recalls the old Kenner toys. These rank among some of my most anticipated releases this year!

Inspired by Dark Horse comics comes this beautiful and stunning Predator figure!

Sci-fi fans have even more to rejoice about as they are going to be releasing some truly breathtaking Planet of the Apes toys based on the original series of movies!

 Eye-patch always equals badass!!!

Fellow Arnold Schwarzenegger fan also have a lot to rejoice about, as you will see with the following two toys. First off we are getting a giant Terminator 2: Judgement Day figure with three exchangeable heads. It is based on the scene in the movie where he blows up a bunch of cop cars with his badass gattling gun.

One of my favorite straight up action movies of the 80s has to be Commando. With a massive body-count and being ridiculously violent, this classic is getting it's own large figure of Arnie's Matrix character in the movie! I should state that the figure to the right is not the final yet. But, regardless it already looks fucking awesome!! I CANNOT wait to see the final product and get it for myself!

DC comic fans will be pleased to know that their also getting large figures as well. First off is a Superman based on the Christopher Reeves version of him (left). There is also a very mean looking Penguin from Tim Burton's Batman Returns. Meanwhile, video game lovers get some love too with a kick ass looking Batman from Batman: Arkham Knight (both are pictured below)!
In keeping with the video game theme we are also getting this cool as hell Halo Master Chief helmet!

As a metalhead, though, it's the upcoming Iron Maiden stuff that have me the most pumped. In fact, if you were to make me pick one thing that I loved the most at this year's Toy Fair it would be these. The amazing Powerslave bust, to the right, being my top pick.
Based on the cover to the cover to the "2 Minutes to Midnight" single, this figure to the left, might be one of the most badass Eddie figures ever!. By the way, before you ask, his hand was broken off. So, it is not detachable nor is he suppose to be amputated!
Like your toys with cloth clothing? Then this killer figure based on the cover of Piece of Mind is for you! These Maiden figures cannot come out fast enough for me!!!

Horror fans had more to rejoice as the following toys will surely prove:

First off we get another large figure in this amazing Leatherface. It comes with an interchangeable head, and I am loving his bloody apron. Based on his look from Tobe Hooper's original horror classic, you can tell that he has been a busy and messy man, disposing of teenagers and serving them for dinner!

Speaking of that version of Leatherface he is also getting his own clothed/ Mezco style figure along with the Jason Voorhees of the kick ass Friday the 13th Pt. VI: Jason Lives. In my humble opinion, that is the best of the F13 sequels (NOTE: I said sequels, not movie, the original remains the best), so I'm quite pleased with this one. Also, he will look cool next to my part 2, Jason! Both Jason and Leatherface (along with an already available Freddy) are to the left of this.

Continuing their video game inspired looks, we get a Mohawk from the Gremlins 2: The New Batch Nintendo video game. One of the greatest horror/ comedy sequels, is getting one of the absolute coolest figures I saw at the entire show!!!!So fuck yeah!

In the same vein, we have a Godzilla figure (left) that is inspired by his own Nintendo game. I actually owned that game, and kind of sort liked it as a kid. But, I'll admit it was far from great, maybe even far from good. But, it brings this horror and monster loving gamer a lot of fond memories. And, for that reason and the excellent sculpt and detail, I think it's another must have!!

I have one last figure (right) to share with you. This another one that is sure to also please fans of giant monsters. It's an addition to their spectacular Pacific Rim line. I love the fire breathing. It looks freaking awesome!!!

Big World Pictures In-Production on FRANKENSTEIN CREATED BIKERS

I reviewed James Bricket's Dear God No! a couple of years ago. I absotutely loved that movie, and when he mentioned that he was working on the sequel, Frankenstein Created Bikers I immediately became super excited. He has a kick starter program for it. The official press release follows:

BIG WORLD PICTURES TO SHOOT ‘FRANKENSTEIN CREATED BIKERS’ ON 35MM FILM

ATLANTA – Feb. 23, 2015 – Big World Pictures announces its latest production, FRANKENSTEIN CREATED BIKERS, will be shot on 35mm motion picture film. The producers have unearthed 20,000 feet of unexposed Kodak Vision 3 film stock leftover and carefully stored from a major Hollywood production.

FRANKENSTEIN CREATED BIKERS is the sequel to the award-winning internationally distributed Super 16mm film DEAR GOD NO! and will be shot with Arri cameras and Zeiss lenses. “We’re really excited to extend our love affair with film. The medium injects our production crew with a hand-crafted sense of pride that we don’t often experience from using digital equipment,” explains director James Bickert.  “Film is a real motivator; it reminds me of soda made with real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. You forget what you’re missing until you experience it.”

35mm Film Brings New Challenges

With film becoming obsolete, development and telecine post-production houses disappearing, the race is on to start principal photography on what may be the last “shot on film” horror genre picture for the production team. Big World Pictures has started a Kickstarter campaign to help get the project in

“We don’t want to waste this opportunity on teenagers stalked in the woods or flying CGI sharks,” adds Bickert. “Our script is very ambitious with a production design that will maximize the natural properties of the medium. We’re using practical effects and we really hope the fans of our previous film will contribute to getting this unique vision in the can. We believe there is a market for the films we love, making the public aware of what we’re doing is the hurdle and hopefully the Kickstarter campaign can bring attention to our cause. We’re offering some really great rewards for investors. ”

Old School Ballyhoo and a Twisted Vision

FRANKENSTEIN CREATED BIKERS centers on the re-animation of the South's most notorious biker gang -The Impalers. Dr. Marco and his assistant are performing gruesome experiments in their asylum lab and have resurrected the thrill-kill Motorcycle Club to capture a Bigfoot containing a pathogen that will allow them to perform a human head transplant. When news of the gang resurrection draws the attention of bounty hunters, law enforcement and rival gangs, the lofty aspirations of these mad scientist starts to spiral out of control. Things get even worse for the occupants when past failed- experiments escape from the basement and the lab is attacked by a bomb-happy femme fatale named Val. Stylistically FRANKENSTEIN CREATED BIKERS pays homage to several of the production team’s favorite films such as the Hammer Studio's Frankenstein series, FASTER PUSSYCAT KILL KILL!, THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE, HORROR RISES FROM THE TOMB, THE RE-ANIMATOR and Biker drive-in pictures from the 70s. Blood, scares, nudity, action, weirdness and real explosions are on the menu, and the dessert is an underlying theme about addiction and what hampers humanity from feeling fulfilled in life. These issues are explored through the actions of really rotten characters doing rotten things - all in the context of a fun-filled smorgasbord of entertainment.

Dedicated Professionals

The self-proclaimed team of "awesome" fanatics at Big World Pictures are made up of crew members
from other productions, including THE WALKING DEAD, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, CONSTANTINE, Adult Swim's YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING TO HELL and TOO MANY COOKS. The camera crew worked on HBO’s THE WIRE and the grip department has worked on productions that include the HUNGER GAMES and THE FAST & THE FURIOUS series. Cast members include Laurence Harvey (HUMAN CENTIPEDE 2 & 3), Celebrity Chef Jim Stacy (DEEP FRIED MASTERS, OFF BEAT EATS) and Ellie Church (TIME TO KILL, HEADLESS). The majority of the DEAR GOD NO! cast will be returning to reprise their roles.

For the Love of the Genre

The Atlanta based Big World Pictures was formed to create films by horror fans for horror fans. Shooting on film has been a binding force for the group who enthusiastically tour the country to horror conventions, festivals and theatrical screenings. “It’s all about comradery and being part of a bigger community.  Due to the bottom line of larger productions, the horror genre gets stuck in trends. Our fan base is growing quickly, and we hope to keep delivering the solid entertainment that we enjoy making. We have a deep sense of pride in what we’re doing and love sharing the experience with like-minded audiences. FRANKENSTEIN CREATED BIKERS is going to electrify them,” concludes Bickert.

The Gorgeous Tera Patrick at Red Light Center Booth at AEE 2015

The adult-only 3D Virtual Environment based on the Red Light District (RLD) of Amsterdam, Red Light Center, had a booth set up at last month's Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. Among the stars signing there was the always gorgeous and awesome Tera Patrick. A legend and always a class act, Tera graciously met fans at the booth, signing autographs and taking pics with them.

Meanwhile, at the expo you could play RLD and get to have a taste of it for yourself. I, myself, got to do just that. In it, I played a patron at a strip club. Done POV style, of course, it was a fun and very cool immersive experience. One of the coolest things is that to the side there was an animated version of Tera, herself, giving someone a lapdance! It's definitely cool to have her in the game and, best of all, it looks like her.

Aside, from playing the game I got to shoot some pics of the beautiful Tera playing RLD herself. She clearly had as much fun, as I did. I definitely think that if you are interested in an adult VR game, this one to check it out. I especially recommend that you give the official site a look as there are a whole bunch of communities based on different adult fantasies setup.

As for Tera, you can expect to see her hitting more comic-book conventions this year in her always amazing cosplay. She will also be keeping up with all of her other regular personal appearances and various projects that she currently has and has coming up. Be sure to follow her official Twitter for all her updates and more!

An Interview with Derrick Pierce at AEE 2015

Photography and video shot by myself
Video edited and encoded by BAS Photography and Design

At the 2015 Adult Entertainment Expo, in Las Vegas, Nev, I had the pleasure to interview adult male performer Derrick Piece. Derrick was a really and cool guy, and we got to have an awesome talk about, but not limited to: his career, being nominated at the AVN Awards, his acting in porn films including playing iconic comic-book characters like Deadpool and the Mandarin in various adult parodies, his favorite perfomers to work, and more, including a very honest answer to a question he gets a lot (and, oddly enough I get directly or indirectly) about guys who want to be performers in the adult world.

Tentacle Kitty at Toy Fair 2015

While, I had seen the adorable Tentacle Kitty before, I was really only introduced and learned quite a lot about her at this year's Toy Fair. I saw a pretty booth girl walk around with the plush toy and was curious to learn more about the product. I managed to do just that when I visited the very cool, little booth that was toy line's home at the fair.

The title character and her friends are from another dimension where cats have tentacles. Aside from these cute toys, they have their own webcomic and already have a strong cult following. President and creator John Merritt was telling me how their line was so long at New York Comic Con, that security had to end it everyday, as fans just kept lining up!

Most of the product shown here is out already. I was also told that they recently worked out a deal with Entertainment Earth about doing some exclusives with them in the future!

Directly above is NinjaKitty and Pirate Kitty!
 These are the Little Ones

Every series needs villains and here is this one's. Seen to the right, they are the Rat Tailed Unicorns! So, basically here are all your happy geek needs in one place: kitties, tentacles, unicorns (bad ones, no less!), pirates, and ninjas, all with an anime inspiration. What is there not to love?
